Is LASIK completely permanent?
The reshaping LASIK applies to the cornea is permanent; the correction cannot be reversed. Rarely, mild regression can occur and be corrected with a touch-up session. Presbyopia (near vision), which develops after age 40, is a natural process independent of LASIK.
Which prescriptions can LASIK treat?
Cases within these ranges are treatable: -1.00 to -10.00 D for myopia (nearsightedness); +1.00 to +4.00 D for hyperopia; and ±0.50 to ±5.00 D for astigmatism. Corneal thickness is an additional deciding factor for each case.
"Our goal is not a 'done' look, but a natural, balanced and lasting result that is truly yours."
Is LASIK possible if I have a thin cornea?
When corneal thickness is 500 microns or below, No-Touch (Trans-PRK) or LASEK is recommended instead of LASIK. These methods reshape the surface without needing a corneal flap and are safe alternatives for thin corneas.
